Letter To The Editor

Editor, Rappahannock Times:

I am inspired by Shiree Monterio, CEO and Founder 7 and M Development, and her vision to create housing and economic opportunities for our community. It is empowering to see a young women lead such a robust project that has the potential to enhance Essex County’s standing in the region. Shiree is the great-great granddaughter of Thomas Croxton Harris, great-niece of Virginia Harris, and granddaughter of Thomas Caldwell Harris (many knew as Sonny), all successful businessmen/ woman whose legacy lives on today.

The Essex Point at Mt. Clement is the initial phase of the “Brays Fork Revitalization Project”. The 13.186-acre site is located just outside of the town of Tappahannock adjacent to the VCU Health Regional Hospital. This land is designated in the Comprehensive Plan as a Development Service District. This is the area designated: to be “the most suitable areas for new population growth”, where the “existing or planned transportation system can accommodate the movement of people and goods”.
